Pelvic Floor Muscle Tone

Keeping your pelvic floor muscles strong and toned can make all the difference to your day-to-day lifestyle. If your pelvic core muscles become weakened by childbirth, age or exercise, and can't hold the urethra and bladder neck closed, urine can leak out when they're strained - often when you sneeze, laugh, or exercise. By strengthening the pelvic floor muscles with Kegel exercises, you will usually be able to better control or stop Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI). Doing Kegels every day may sound tedious, however an added benefit to regular pelvic floor exercise is that many women find that their increased strength leads to increased sexual sensitivity!

Pelvic Floor Muscle Re-Training Therapy
The trick about Kegels is to identify and work out the correct muscles regularly. If you can't find the right muscles, you'll be wasting your time. We offer two different products to use while doing Kegel exercises, and both work on the method of biofeedback - allowing you to identify and feel your pelvic floor muscle contractions so you can tone and strengthen them effectively and efficiently. LadySystem® is a set of cone-shaped vaginal weights which, when used incrementally for two 15 minute sessions daily, allows you to progressively build up your pelvic core strength. IncoStress® is a silicone device that supports the bladder neck and urethra for up to 8 hours either overnight or during the day. It also helps you identify and exercise your pelvic floor muscles, and for women who have difficulty holding in the pelvic cones, it can be an easier way to start a pelvic core restrengthening program.
